Mariketty Grana’s Greek restaurant Thalassa opens on Khar’s 21st Road

Thalassa, Goa’s Greek taverna, opened on 21st  Road, Khar, Mumbai. The menu at the restaurant, owned by Mariketty Grana (who is also the head chef), comprises Greek comfort food, vegetarian selections and desserts.

It offers a few core themes. These include:
Dips and appetisers:These include Tzatziki, Tiro- Kaf- Teri, Gianio- Tiko, Feta Saganaki andMini Chicken Souvlakis.
Salads and sides: The selection of salads includes the Seafood Salad andHoriatiki, which is accompanied by a hearty Lemon Chicken soup.
Grill and rotisserie: A big part of the Hellenic diet, this section offers charcoal-grilled meat and fresh seafood. Don’t miss the Lamb Kebab, Pork Chops and Calamari on the Grill.
Souvlakis and Gyros: At this Thalassa, there is a live wrap counter at the front deck where guests can enjoy a quick bite. Popular wraps include the Greek Salad Wrap, Chicken Souvlaki and Beef Gyros.

The extensive main course houses everyday favourites and classics from the oven like Moussakas, or in case patrons are looking for a satisfying carb fix, a Pastitsio - a terrine of baked pasta with a delicious meat sauce, piping hot and richly lathered in béchamel.

Those wishing to sample authentic Greek fare can try the Kleftiko, with tender pieces of lamb slow-cooked in a pot with herbs, Kalamata olive oil and feta covered with filo pastry. Vegetarians can try a traditional Spana Korizo with spinach and rice cooked in a pot with Kalamata olive oil and Greek herbs, topped with feta.

The dessert menu includes Chocolate Baklava and Tiramisu. The range of wines and signature cocktails includes Mykonos Blue, Tropical Storm, Poseidon’s Elixir and Corfu Sunset.
