Marriott Hotel, Whitefield, wins Restaurant of ear at World on a Plate

fiogf49gjkf0d fiogf49gjkf0d Marriott Hotel, Whitefield, has bagged the ‘Best Restaurant of the Year’ award at the World on a Plate food festival held at JW Marriott. The property’s newly opened restaurant, Whitefield Bar and Grill (WBG), won over visiting chefs Matt, Gary and George of Masterchef Australia with its signature dish, the Soya Chaap.
‘World on a Plate,’ which was held in Bengaluru between June 4 and 5, 2016, was the first-ever international food festival to be organised in India and featured three of the most influential people in the culinary world in the three chefs.
Popular restaurants in the city participated in the contest in an attempt to impress the chefs. Soya Chaap, a vegetarian offering prepared by chef Sanjeev, was successful in achieving the daunting task and was preferred by the three chefs over many other non-vegetarian dishes on offer.
The dish brought alive Indian spices and lived up to its reputation as a dish for vegetarians. The soya is cooked finely to lend a piquant taste and the restaurant chefs have had instances of guests confirming whether the dish is indeed vegetarian. The chefs at the hotel pride themselves on offering vegetarian guests a delectable offering they can brag about to their non-vegetarian friends.

WBG was launched at the hotel in April this year. Besides the Soya Chaap, the restaurant is also widely popular across Bangalore for its signature Pulled Pork Black Burger, The Gambas and the Tandoori Chicken. The restaurant also concocts interesting drinks.
