Mast Banarasi Paan, is projecting Rs 50 crore in annual franchise network sales during FY 2026-27, as the company strengthens its presence across existing markets and continues its next phase of expansion. The projection comes as Mast Banarasi Paan has crossed 400 outlets across 20+ states and over 320 cities, creating one of the country’s largest organised networks in the tobacco-free paan category. The company plans to expand its footprint to 600 outlets over the next two years, driven largely through its franchise-led model.

The company is also exploring strategic growth capital to accelerate expansion, strengthen technology and supply-chain capabilities, invest in brand building and further develop its franchise partner ecosystem. It is simultaneously evaluating opportunities in international markets with sizeable Indian diaspora populations.
India’s paan market is estimated to be worth over Rs 5,000 crore but continues to remain largely fragmented and unorganised. Mast Banarasi Paan sees a significant opportunity to organise the category by combining the cultural familiarity of Banarasi paan with standardised operating processes, hygiene, consistent product quality and a contemporary retail experience.

Commenting on the growth plans, Panchanand Thakur, Founder & CEO, Mast Banarasi Paan, said, “As our network has expanded, our focus has increasingly moved beyond just the number of outlets to building stronger and more productive franchise businesses. We are projecting Rs 50 crore in annual sales across the Mast Banarasi Paan franchise network during the current financial year. Our objective is to build a scalable ecosystem where franchise partners benefit from standardised processes, central sourcing, technology and the growing acceptance of organised, tobacco-free paan.”

The franchise-led model has enabled the company to expand across Tier I, II and III markets while allowing local entrepreneurs to participate in organised food retail. Mast Banarasi Paan supports the network through standardised operating systems, technology-enabled processes and central sourcing, helping maintain consistency as the brand scales.

At the core of the company’s proposition is its 100 per cent tobacco-free paan portfolio. By separating the culinary and cultural experience of paan from tobacco consumption, the company has sought to reposition the traditional Indian mouth freshener in a modern, hygienic and family-friendly format. Alongside traditional favourites such as meetha and sada paan, Mast Banarasi Paan continues to introduce contemporary offerings aimed at younger consumers and evolving tastes.

Going forward, Mast Banarasi Paan plans to focus on network sales growth, franchise productivity, disciplined outlet expansion, product innovation and operating efficiencies as it works towards building a scaled organised brand in one of India’s traditionally fragmented food categories.
