Mumbai’s dining scene gears up with new menus for Independence Day

With the Independence Day holiday offering a welcome pause from the usual routine, Mumbai’s dining scene is gearing up with new menus, limited-time culinary experiences and festive offerings for those looking to celebrate over a leisurely meal on August 15.
From contemporary Indian and European cuisine to Thai specialities and Asian-inspired flavours, several restaurants across the city are introducing fresh dining experiences for the long weekend.
At Soraia, Mumbai’s first glasshouse restaurant, diners can enjoy modern Indian and European flavours in a light-filled setting designed for relaxed lunches and dinners. The restaurant also features an Omakase Bar and region-inspired cocktails at its Mélange India Bar, adding to its distinctive dining experience. Located in Mahalakshmi, Soraia will be open from 12 pm to 1 am.
Meanwhile, KOKO is bringing back its annual Chef’s Special Menu, Flavours of Mala, for a limited period. The menu explores different expressions of Asia’s distinctive mala flavour through dishes including Imperial Lamb Dumpling, Lobster & Scallions, Mala Style, Chef’s Signature Catch of the Day and Brown Butter Indulgence. The Goregaon restaurant will be open from 12 pm to 1 am, making it an option for both lunch and dinner plans.
Thai cuisine takes centre stage at Nara Thai, which has recently introduced its Curry Shop menu, drawing inspiration from regional curry traditions across Thailand. The menu features dishes such as Southern Curry Bowl, Massaman Lamb Curry with Smoked Coconut Rice, Seabass Fillet in Yellow Curry and Tom Yum Noodles. The Worli outlet will be open from 12 pm to 3:30 pm.
At Thai Naam in Bandra West, guests can explore a contemporary take on Thai cuisine with a recently introduced menu featuring dishes such as Asparagus & Spinach Dumplings with Yellow Curry, Chicken Wonton with Burnt Chilli, Truffle Baked Crab, Korean Grilled Lamb Chops, Sea Bass with Pickled Hunan Chilli and Matcha Crêpe Cake. The restaurant will be open from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm for lunch and from 7 pm to 11:30 pm for dinner.
With a mix of new menus, signature dishes and distinctive dining spaces, these Mumbai restaurants are set to give diners plenty of reasons to step out and make the most of the Independence Day holiday.
