Gourmet Bar at Novotel Vijayawada Varun is bringing the culinary legacy of Hyderabad’s Nizami kitchens to Vijayawada with a week-long Nizami Food Festival from August 14 to 20, 2026. Curated as a limited-time dining experience, the festival brings together slow-cooked curries, smoky kebabs, fragrant rice preparations and traditional desserts that reflect the depth, finesse and enduring appeal of one of India’s most celebrated food cultures.
The menu opens with Nizami Paya Shorva, a slow-simmered broth layered with warming spices, and Palak Badam Shorba, finished with saffron-infused Sheermal. The appetiser selection brings together vegetarian and non-vegetarian signatures, including Shahi Bharwan Shikampuri, Dahi Ke Kebab, Pathar Ka Gosht grilled on a traditional hot granite stone, and Murgh Reshmi Kebab.
For the main course, guests can choose from Nizami Mutton Korma, Murgh Dum-e-Khas and Paneer-e-Nizami, paired with Nizami Bagara Rice or Roomali Roti. The festival closes on a festive note with Double Ka Meetha, Jouzi Halwa and Royal Falooda, offering a sweet finish rooted in Hyderabad’s celebrated dessert traditions.
Manish Pathak, hotel manager, Novotel Vijayawada Varun, said, “The Nizami Food Festival is our tribute to Hyderabad’s rich culinary heritage, where slow cooking, aromatic spices and time-honoured recipes come together to create a memorable dining experience. We look forward to offering guests in Vijayawada a taste of these royal traditions at Gourmet Bar.”
