The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), Bengaluru Chapter, in association with Mitti Café, organised an inclusive job mela at Mirage, St. Marks Road, Bengaluru, connecting over 110 persons with disabilities to employment opportunities across the city’s hospitality industry.

The initiative brought together leading restaurant brands, including Empire, Nagarjuna, Nandhana Palace, Samosa Party, Geist Brewing Company, Just Blr, Knowhere, 13th Floor, NH 8 and V&RO, along with more than 30 other restaurant brands. The job mela provided candidates with a platform to explore career opportunities and interact with prospective employers, highlighting the hospitality sector’s potential to promote diversity, accessibility and inclusive employment.

Ananth Narayan, chapter head, NRAI Bengaluru, said the initiative aimed to bring employers and talent together while encouraging restaurants to expand their hiring practices beyond conventional recruitment channels. He added that the job mela was not merely a one-day event but an effort to encourage member restaurants to recognise the capabilities of a wider talent pool and build workplaces that reflect the diversity of the communities they serve. As the chapter expands its presence across Karnataka, inclusive employment will remain an important part of its industry engagement efforts.

The NRAI Bengaluru Chapter also announced changes to its leadership structure. Chapter head Ananth Narayan appointed Siddhant Vinod as co-chapter head and Dheeraj M. Kumar as treasurer. The appointments are expected to strengthen the chapter’s engagement with Bengaluru’s growing restaurant and hospitality industry.

The chapter also acknowledged the completion of Chris John’s four-year tenure as chief enabler, recognising his contribution during his term. Ajay Kumar K R will assume the role of marketing head, leading the chapter’s marketing initiatives and working to enhance its visibility among restaurant partners and industry stakeholders.

The collaboration underscores the importance of industry partnerships in creating equitable employment opportunities. Through initiatives focused on inclusive hiring, industry collaboration and leadership development, the chapter aims to contribute to a more diverse and accessible hospitality ecosystem in Bengaluru.
