Nutrition Week promotes healthier dietary practices

Nutrition Week stresses on the need to make informed, balanced choices for a healthier life. Good nutrition goes beyond simply counting calories, it is about choosing nutrient-rich foods, maintaining dietary diversity and understanding what our bodies truly need. By making mindful food choices every day, we can build healthier habits, support overall well-being and pave the way for a healthier future.

Mithun Majumdar, CEO, 750AD Healthcare said that the Nutrition Week observed from September 1 to September 7 is an important opportunity to remind consumers that good health is built through everyday choices. Nutrition is no longer simply about calories; it is about nutrient quality, dietary diversity and understanding what our body actually needs.

Nature provides some excellent examples. Kiwi is naturally rich in vitamin C, which plays an essential role in normal collagen formation and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. Dragon fruit provides fibre, vitamin C and other naturally occurring plant compounds, while avocado offers fibre, vitamin E and predominantly unsaturated fats. These examples highlight an important principle: there is no single “superfood.” Overall dietary quality, variety and consistency matter most, he added.

The connection between nutrition and skin health is also receiving increasing scientific attention. The skin is a living organ, and its normal structure and function depend on adequate nutrition, alongside hydration, lifestyle and appropriate topical care. Emerging human research on kiwifruit is particularly interesting in exploring the relationship between dietary intake and aspects of skin function, said Majumdar.

At 750AD Healthcare, we believe the future of wellness lies at the intersection of nature, science and responsible innovation. The real importance of Nutrition Week is not just creating awareness for one week. It is encouraging people to make better-informed choices every day. When nature is guided by science and innovation is driven by purpose, nutrition can become a meaningful part of a healthier lifestyle, from the inside out, said Majumdar.
