Outgoing FSSAI CEO Agarwal felicitated at NetProFaN and AFST(I) event

Pawan Kumar Agarwal, the outgoing CEO, FSSAI was felicitated at an event here hosted by NetProFaN Maharashtra Chapter, ITC FSAN, along with AFST (I) Mumbai chapter. He will join the Ministry of Consumer Affairs as secretary after a four-year stint in the FSSAI as chief executive officer. At the event, Agarwal was felicitated for his contribution to the development of the food safety ecosystem over the last four years. A four-minute video of his contribution to the food safety development was shown to the people who attended the event.
This was followed by a skit on food safety, which was perfomed by the students of Mumbai’s Khalsa College. While addressing the audience, Agarwal said, “We want the food consumed by people to be safe and there should be harmony between various stakeholders. If we are working for same goal, then we should focus on achieving it, together. People who work with us were very supportive, no mater from whichever company or association they were. And they did played an important role. Representatives of various association were present on the occasion and praised his work. Also present on the occasion was A B Unhale, the newly-appointed FDA Maharashtra commissioner; Dr Yogesh Kamat, director, FSSAI Western Region; C B Kotak, Export Inspection Agency, Mumbai; R P Mishra, deputy director, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS); Nilesh Lele, convenor, Maharashtra chapter; Dr Prabodh Halde, immediate past president, AFST(I) (Association of Food Scientists and Technologists of India); Chinmayee Deulgaonkar, managing director, Foodchain ID; Umesh Kamble, founder and chief executive officer, Farm to Fork Solutions, Mumbai and Dr Nilesh Amritkar, chairman and managing director, Envirocare Labs, India, amongst others.
