As per reports, Secretary Health Punya Salila Srivastava and CEO FSSAI Rajit Punhani remained present at the meeting.
It is learnt that the members of the committee raised serious questions over the unchecked adulterated food products being sold during the festive season and it remained a continual problem despite public warnings and enforcement drives.
The matter related to adulterated ghee supplied to the Tirupati Temple was also raised during the meeting.
The members also sought explanation from the officials on the steps taken to address the manpower gaps. The matter related to misleading advertisements was also raised during the meeting along with labelling misrepresentations on food products.
The Ministry of Health and FSSAI have been asked to submit detailed replies on the issues raised by the members during the meeting. Further a detailed roadmap on manpower filling was also asked from the officials.
