In a significant move toward decarbonizing its supply chain, PepsiCo India has announced the launch of an innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) "Green Corridor." This dedicated logistics route, connecting the company’s manufacturing facility in Kosi Kalan, Uttar Pradesh, to its distribution hub in Pataudi, Haryana, aims to revolutionise short-haul freight through sustainable transport solutions.

The initiative marks a critical milestone in PepsiCo’s global "Pep+" (PepsiCo Positive) agenda, which targets net-zero emissions by 2040. By deploying a fleet of heavy-duty electric trucks on this high-traffic 100-kilometer stretch, the company expects to significantly reduce its carbon footprint and operational dependence on fossil fuels.

The Kosi-Pataudi route was selected due to its strategic importance in PepsiCo’s North India operations. To support the seamless movement of goods, the company has invested in specialized charging infrastructure at both ends of the corridor. These fast-charging stations are designed to minimize turnaround time, ensuring that the EV fleet maintains the high efficiency required for food and beverage logistics.

"The launch of the EV Green Corridor is a testament to our commitment to building a resilient and sustainable value chain," a PepsiCo India spokesperson stated. "By integrating cutting-edge EV technology into our primary transport routes, we are not just reducing emissions but also setting a benchmark for the FMCG industry’s logistics transition."

This pilot project serves as a blueprint for PepsiCo’s broader plans to scale EV integration across India. The company is collaborating with leading EV manufacturers and logistics partners to explore the feasibility of similar corridors in other key regions.

As India continues to push for a green energy transition, corporate initiatives like the Kosi-Pataudi corridor are vital. By proving the viability of long-range electric freight, PepsiCo India is leading the charge toward a cleaner, more efficient future for Indian manufacturing and distribution.
