This National Whisky Sour Day, Portal, Kala Ghoda’s all-day cafe and bar,will be celebrating a classic cocktail created especially for the occasion on August 25. The drink takes a familiar classic and gives it a new direction, while staying rooted in the character of a traditional sour.
The Mustard Sour starts bright and refreshing, with a lively sourness that settles into a warm, savoury finish. It combines Mahua whisky, homemade mustard, passionfruit, honey, lemon and bitters, and is finished with a sourdough cracker and mustard.
"For National Whisky Sour Day, we wanted to play with the familiar sour while bringing in flavours that feel closer to home. The mustard adds a savoury note to the drink, while passionfruit, honey and lemon keep it fresh and balanced," says, Punam H. Singh, founder of Portal.
