In a strategic leadership move, Prashant Peres has taken charge as General Manager – India for Mars Snacking, leading the combined Mars and Kellanova businesses in one of the world’s most dynamic snack markets.
Peres’s appointment marks a pivotal step in Mars’s efforts to strengthen its foothold in India’s fast-evolving snacking landscape. As GM, he will be responsible for driving overall strategy, business growth, and operational excellence across both portfolios — uniting iconic global brands under a cohesive organisational structure designed for competitive agility and local relevance.
India presents both vast opportunity and intense competition for multinational consumer goods companies. With changing consumer tastes, rising premiumisation and a retail ecosystem that rewards rapid innovation, Mars Snacking is aiming to harness its combined brand strength and distribution capabilities to capture a larger share of the market.
In his first public remarks following the transition, Peres emphasised the importance of teamwork, cultural integration and people-centric leadership as foundations for future success. He described the integration of Mars and Kellanova operations not just as a consolidation of assets, but as a chance to build “a truly unique organisation” that can deliver long-term value to consumers, customers and communities alike.
The move comes at a time when global food and confectionery majors are reassessing strategies in key growth markets — focusing not only on scale, but on execution quality, talent depth and organisational resilience. Peres’s leadership is expected to accelerate these priorities in India, aligning global expertise with deep local insight.
With his extensive experience across the FMCG and consumer goods space, industry watchers see this as a bold step by Mars to sharpen its competitive edge in the crowded snacks sector.
