Sayaji Industries and SDPA enter JV to produce spray-dried acacia gum

Sayaji Industries Limited has entered a joint venture (JV) agreement with Societe Developpement Produits Afrique (SDPA), France, wherein they will be equal partners in Sayaji IngriTech LLP, and the technology will be provided by Alland and Robert, one of the largest manufacturers of acacia gum worldwide and subsidiary of SDPA.

Commenting on the joint venture, Priyam Mehta, chairman and managing director, Sayaji Industries Ltd, said, “We are delighted to join hands with Alland and Robert, a company that has been an expert in this field since 1884.”

“We will leverage the expertise of both companies – Sayaji Industries’ strong presence in the Indian food and beverage market, and Alland and Robert’s unique technological know-how. We are looking forward to working closely with Alland and Robert on developing this partnership,” he added.

Commenting on the joint venture, Frédéric Alland, chief executive officer, Alland and Robert, said, “This joint venture will give Alland and Robert the opportunity to offer its high quality products to the Indian market.”

“Our partnership with a successful local enterprise will get us closer to the customers’ needs of this particular and dynamic new market. Alland and Robert is a 135-year-old family company that has always aimed at expanding its reach in the world. We are proud to take on new challenges to ensure our success,” he added,

Acacia gum, is used in flavours, beverages, confectionery, dairy, bakery and dietary products, among others. With most food-based MNCs (multi-national companies) being the end users.

Sayaji Industries previously announced the inking of the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in a circular to the exchange dated October 11, 2018.
