September is bringing a fresh line-up of restaurant openings, menu launches and curated dining experiences across Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. From Japanese izakaya and matcha-focused café offerings to vegetarian Cantonese tasting menus and interactive Sunday dining, the month offers a range of new experiences for diners.
Newly launched Supa San has brought Japanese izakaya-style dining to Bandra, with a menu centred on communal dining and shared plates. The extensive selection features more than 100 dishes spanning small plates, sushi, tempura, robata, ramen and larger-format preparations, with nearly half the menu dedicated to vegetarian offerings. Signatures include Kamameshi, Japanese rice cooked to order in a sealed iron pot and opened tableside, and Mazeman, a soupless interpretation of ramen.
Its drinks programme, NOW PLAYING, draws inspiration from a record collection and features Japanese-inspired cocktails, zero-proof beverages, teas and matcha. The 110-seater venue combines intimate and communal dining areas with open-to-sky alfresco seating and a private karaoke room. Resident DJs, live performances and the Sound Archive further add to the venue’s music-led identity. Supa San is located on the 14th Floor of Mansionz One, Linking Road, Bandra West, Mumbai. It is open from 12 pm to 1 am, with pricing at Rs 3,000 for two.
Tokyo Matcha Bar has expanded its café offering with a new menu combining its matcha beverages with Asian-inspired food, coffee, teas and desserts. The menu features creations such as Strawberry Matcha Latte, Cookie Lychee Matcha and the Monster Cookie Series, alongside favourites including Dirty Matcha Latte and Ube Matcha Latte.
The food selection spans small plates, gyoza, ramen, burgers, rice and noodles, while the dessert section includes Basque Cheesecake, Cakey Cookie and Smash Croissants. Located at Silvilla House, Chapel Road, next to Lovely Stores in St Sebastian Colony, Ranwar, Bandra West, Mumbai, Tokyo Matcha Bar is open from 12 pm to 11:30 pm. The menu is priced at Rs 1,500 for two.
Yauatcha Bengaluru has introduced two curated vegetarian tasting experiences — The Taste of Yauatcha and The Supreme Taste of Yauatcha. The Supreme Taste of Yauatcha begins with a choice of Hot & Sour Soup with Mushroom or Mixed Salad with Lotus Root, followed by dim sum including Vegetable Chive Dumpling, Vegetable Crystal Dumpling and Vegetable Shanghai Dumpling.
The main course features options such as Spicy Aubergine, Okra & French Beans, Szechuan Mapo Tofu and Stir-Fry Vegetable in Curry Sauce, served with a choice of rice or noodles and followed by dessert. The Taste of Yauatcha offers a more concise selection, including Asparagus, Water Chestnut & Corn Dumpling, Vegetable Chive Dumpling and Fried Turnip Cake with Vegetables, followed by Stir-Fry French Beans with Shiitake Mushroom or Vegetable in Asam Sauce and dessert.
The vegetarian tasting experiences are available at Level 5, 1 MG Road Mall, MG Road, Bengaluru, from 12 pm to 10:30 pm. The Supreme Taste of Yauatcha is priced at Rs 1,855+ per person, while The Taste of Yauatcha is priced at Rs 1,415+ per person.
Sweeney has introduced its Marketplace Cookout, offering a more interactive approach to Sunday dining. The experience allows guests to select ingredients, watch their food being prepared live and participate in cocktail-making.
The Build Your Wok experience lets diners choose their base, fresh market vegetables, protein and one of four house flavours, which are then cooked live by the chef. At the bar, Shake It Up! allows guests to select from four signature cocktails and prepare their own drink with guidance from the Sweeney team.
The Sunday brunch is available every Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm at 759, 5th Lane, opposite the Union Bank ATM, Ram Krishna Nagar, Khar West, Mumbai. It is priced at Rs 1,700 plus taxes per person.
