fiogf49gjkf0d Sichuan House, a popular Asian dining destination at Phoenix Marketcity, Mumbai, is presenting its festival of the month: Curries of Asia. The restaurant specialises in flavours from the Sichuan province of China. The festival will be on till June 13, 2016.
Chef Paul Kinny curates a menu of nine curries inspired by the Orient. Each of the curries are accompanied with a bowl of steamed rice/sticky rice/steamed noodles/flat noodles. The bowls start at a price of Rs 375, and allow vegetarians and non-vegetarians to choose their favourite protein and vegetables.
According to a press release issued by the company, the curries are brought from the streets of the Far East. Taking inspiration from the street staples of Malaysia are the Malay Red Pepper Curry and Curry Laksa – the former is spicy and the latter being milder using different spices and aromatics. Thailand’s favourites include the relatively mild Massaman Curry and the Thai Khao Soi – Thai curry with a dash of Burmese influence. From Japan, the restaurant is offering Japanese Golden Curry with exotic vegetables like pak choy and haricot beans and from Vietnam, the green Vietnamese Curry with jalapeños and shrimp paste.
The restaurant’s bar boasts a selection of spirits, wines, beers and Asian cocktails – Long Island Iced Green Tea, Chinese Mary and Thai Mojito.
