Sidel’s Octeville site has been awarded the Gold Medal by sustainability assessors, EcoVadis following a comprehensive review of its supply chain strategy at both local and corporate-group level.
The company was also positioned in the top five percent of reporting companies in 2024 by EcoVadis, highlighting the company’s commitment to its sustainability practices and transparency.
Francesca Bellucci, VP strategy and sustainability at Sidel, said, “We’re thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for our EcoVadis reporting. This is a remarkable achievement that reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, ethics, and responsible business practices.”
The company partnered with EcoVadis in 2017 to assess and improve its environmental, social, and ethical performance as part of its new supply chain strategy. With over 17 years of expertise, it has assessed sustainability efforts for more than 125,000 companies, evaluating them across four key categories: environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement practices.
Its latest achievement follows a comprehensive review involving more than 300 questions covering critical areas such as environmental impact, labour rights, health and safety, ethics, and responsible procurement.
Armelle Biton, HSE business partner, Sidel, said, "The evaluation was both rigorous and extensive, demanding significant collaboration and commitment from our teams. It encompassed the Sidel Octeville site and corporate-level assessments, adding complexity to the process and making the final recognition all the more rewarding."
This Gold Medal not only celebrates Sidel’s current accomplishments but also sets the stage for wider ongoing efforts towards group-level reporting. “We are confident that this success will inspire us to reach even greater heights in our sustainability journey,” concluded Francesca.
