SOCIAL has expanded its Mumbai presence with the opening of its newest outlet at Sky City Mall, Borivali. Built around the theme ‘The Last Stop to Many Starts’, the new outlet celebrates Borivali’s diverse communities, cultural influences and evolving neighbourhood identity.

Often referred to as Mumbai’s ‘last stop’ on the suburban railway line, Borivali is home to a mix of traditional settlements, modern developments and natural landscapes. The neighbourhood’s character is shaped by its East Indian roots, Gujarati influences, historic villages and proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, as well as its coastal connections. The new SOCIAL outlet draws inspiration from these diverse elements to create a space centred on food, culture and community.

The interiors follow the concept ‘Preserving What We Might Forget’, inspired by the Svalbard Global Seed Vault and Borivali’s relationship with Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Designed as an interactive archive of the natural world, the space incorporates botanical impressions, preserved specimens reinterpreted as art, archival drawers documenting local butterflies, X-ray-inspired tables and a digital forest installation. These design elements highlight the neighbourhood’s ecological heritage and natural diversity.

Speaking on the launch, Riyaaz Amlani, Founder and Managing Director, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said that the brand’s expansion focuses on understanding the distinctive character of neighbourhoods and creating spaces that become part of their everyday lives. He added that Borivali SOCIAL aims to reflect the area's diverse communities and histories while providing a new gathering place for residents.

The food menu features SOCIAL's popular offerings, including Fully Re-loaded Nachos, Bombay Bhelpuri Salad, Paneer Makhani Biryani and China Box. The beverage selection includes coffee, mocktails and matcha, catering to daytime visits and casual gatherings. In the evening, the outlet offers signature cocktails such as Banarasi Patiala, LLIIT and Grenade.

With its latest opening, SOCIAL aims to establish a neighbourhood destination that brings together dining, socialising and cultural experiences, while drawing on Borivali’s local heritage and contemporary urban identity.
