Sofitel Mumbai BKC to host sixth essay of Indian wine awards on Jan 13

All Things Nice, known for their continuous efforts to promote fine wines and spirits in India, will organise the sixth edition of the Indian Wine Consumer Choice Awards (IWCCA) at Sofitel Mumbai BKC between 2pm and 6pm on January 13, 2018.

The aim of IWCCA is to give Indian consumers an opportunity to judge for themselves, and on behalf of other consumers, the best Indian wines available in the country. The annual accreditation is a brainchild of Nikhil Agarwal, sommelier and chief executive officer, All Things Nice.

It will open the doors for consumers to acknowledge and celebrate new vintages and new wines launched in the market as well as provide an insight to wineries into what the rapidly-increasing Indian market is inclined towards.

The approach involves bringing together all domestically-produced wines in the premium category, having them professionally categorised into a systematic tasting and inviting wine consumers/enthusiasts to judge them.

“In its sixth year, the Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards is even more relevant. There is tremendous interest in wine today, and IWCCA gives people a unique opportunity to make buying decisions based on the preferences of wine aficionados themselves,” said Agarwal.

This competition thereby reveals an independent list of India’s finest wines, judged by the very people who drink them.

The consumers taste the wines blind, unaware of the brand name or price point, thereby allowing an unbiased judgment based purely on the quality of the wine itself.

The only information provided would be the grape varietal and the wine will be judged on the basis of its aroma, colour and palate.

The winners in each category of the competition will be announced a week post the judging through All Things Nice’s website.

The winners will be accredited with IWCCA gold, silver and bronze certifications and IWCCA medals.
