Sula Vineyards has contributed Rs 20 lakh in the fight against Covid-19 including Rs 8 lakh each to PM-Cares Fund and the Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority (MSDMA) fund, and the remaining funds to Nasik hospitals where the main wineries are located.
Also, the company’s employees have voluntarily come forward to make donations in their capacities to different relief funds. Many have distributed masks and food essentials to those in need.
The company has donated 200 PPE (personal protection equipment) to the government hospital in Nashik.
Furthermore, the company has also taken steps to ensure the mental and physical well-being of its team members through their initiative called – “We Care.” The company is also strictly following all employee welfare and safety guidelines issued by the government.
Rajeev Samant, CEO, Sula Vineyards, said, “This is a difficult and challenging time for all of us and we all need to contribute however we can.”
“Wine has been one of the few bright spots for Indian farmers this year. But we will need quick policy support to emerge from this difficult situation. It should be noted that in many countries globally, wine shops have been notified as essentials alongside grocery and medical stores,” he added.
