At the International Rice & Grains Tech Expo 2026, SVALZ officially unveiled RiceVault 671T. The launch was supported by an eight-month commercial-scale storage and aging trial using SVALZ SafeAging Technology. Aged paddy samples were displayed at the exhibition, allowing millers and industry professionals to inspect the results firsthand.
It develops advanced grain cooling, rice aging, seed preservation, and climate-controlled storage technologies that help agricultural businesses protect quality, reduce storage losses, and maximise long-term value.
For more than a century, rice aging in India followed a simple process. Paddy was harvested, dried, bagged, stacked, and time did the rest. Labour shortages, rising handling costs, larger storage capacities, and increasing quality expectations are accelerating the transition toward modern silo storage systems.
It was officially unveiled by AD Padmanaban, director and technical head of A.D. Duraisamy Modern Rice Mill. Industry leaders from rice milling, grain storage, silo technology, and post-harvest sectors attended the launch.
“We had experience using grain cooling technology before working with SVALZ, so we already understood the benefits of cooling paddy during storage. However, we wanted a system specifically adapted for the Indian rice milling industry and the unique requirements of rice aging. During our discussions with the SVALZ team, we emphasised the importance of a simple design, easy availability of spare parts, easy-to-replace components, stainless steel construction for long service life, and above all, energy efficiency. SVALZ developed the RiceVault exactly as we had envisioned. e system delivered the aging results we expected while reducing energy consumption by approximately 25%. As storage moves toward silos, grain cooling will play an important role in safe aging, quality preservation, and long-term storage management,” said Padmanaban.
“A key innovation behind RiceVault 671T is its advanced thermal management platform developed the system incorporates a specially engineered dual-circuit heat exchanger and an evaporator coil designed around enthalpy changes in ambient air. This enables more precise relative humidity control, stable cooling performance, reduced after-heater load, improved compressor efficiency, and lower energy consumption. A single RiceVault 671T can support multiple silos, making it suitable for modern 3,500-tonne paddy/rice silo installations and integrated rice storage complexes. The platform combines traditional rice aging principles with modern climate-controlled preservation technology,” said Pari Mamallan, CEO, SVALZ.
"Traditional rice aging has always depended on environmental stability. Our objective with RiceVault 671T was to create a controlled storage environment capable of delivering that stability inside modern silo systems," said Jagannathan, CTO, SVALZ.
“As India’s rice industry invests in larger silos, automated handling systems, and integrated storage infrastructure, the challenge is no longer simply storing paddy. The challenge is preserving value, protecting quality, and ensuring that traditional aging excellence can be reproduced with scientific consistency. RiceVault 671T was developed to meet that challenge,” read the company communication note.
