Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, conducted a comprehensive training programme for more than 100 delivery partners in Bengaluru, aimed at strengthening awareness around crime prevention, road safety, traffic rules, and financial literacy. The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Bengaluru City Police and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), reinforcing Swiggy’s commitment to the safety, well-being, and empowerment of its delivery ecosystem.
The crime prevention and safety module was led by senior officials from the Bengaluru City Police, including Whitefield DCP Parashuram, IPS; ACP Sudarshan (Law & Order); ACP Ramesh Kumar (Traffic); and SHO Anil Kumar, Marathahalli. During the session, delivery partners were educated on identifying potential crime risks, protecting themselves from cyber fraud, and adopting practical personal safety measures while on duty. The officers also highlighted the importance of road safety, traffic discipline, and situational awareness, especially for delivery personnel who spend long hours navigating city roads. Participants were guided on the effective use of the emergency helpline number 112 in case of distress or emergencies.
In addition to safety training, Swiggy facilitated a financial literacy session conducted by a SEBI-certified trainer, focusing on basic money management and financial planning. The session covered topics such as budgeting, saving, responsible borrowing, and understanding formal financial systems, enabling delivery partners to make informed decisions about their finances and long-term security.
Through this initiative, Swiggy aims to go beyond operational support by equipping its delivery partners with essential life skills that extend into their communities. By improving awareness around safety and financial responsibility, Swiggy seeks to empower its delivery partners as responsible, informed community ambassadors, contributing to safer neighbourhoods and increased financial inclusion.
The Bengaluru training programme is part of Swiggy’s broader efforts to create a supportive and secure working environment for its delivery partners while fostering trust and resilience across the platform’s growing on-ground workforce.
