Tasting Australia: 10-day culinary festival across South Australia

One of the country’s longest running eating and drinking festivals, Tasting Australia presented by RAA Travel, taking place across Adelaide and regional South Australia. More than 150 events are on the menu for the next 10 days from May 3 to 12. Chefs and drinks makers from around the globe will converge in South Australia, including international names James Henry (France), Claudette Zepeda (US), Helen Masters (NZ) and Nick Mills (NZ). They will join more than 50 Australian chefs including Matt Moran, Justin James and Isobel Little.

Tasting Australia’s new-look CBD festival hub Town Square in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga is open daily from 11am with free entry.

A variety of food vendors will feature in Town Square including nine new options:
  • Africola Canteen, famous for their Peri Peri Chicken
  • The Thai Guy serving Thai street food
  • Spread Deli offering fresh baked sandos
  • Braising Boy with authentic Mexican street food
  • Sassi Ice-cream, vegan, dairy-free and infused with floral essences and exotic spices
  • Ong Vietnamese, Vietnamese Australian fare at its best
  • Olive, this Mediterranean restaurants’ first festival appearance
  • Cheekies Hot Chicken, fried chicken inspired by Nashville
  • BBQ at Yours serving slow cooked South American barbeque over the asador grill
Alongside returning favourites:
  • One Sneeky Cheetah serving delicious woodfired pizzas
  • Peel St, the iconic CBD restaurant will serve up both classics and new dishes
  • Victoria Park Social Club will offer paella and spaghetti finished in a parmesan wheel
  • Kuti Shack, the Fleurieu Peninsula’s best seafood is headed to Town Square
  • Crepe Bar will serve European street-style crepes and waffles
Regional South Australia will welcome visitors and locals alike at events including long lunches in the country’s best wine regions, an overnight adventure to the Limestone Coast and a sailing experience around Kangaroo Island. More information is available at tastingaustralia.com.au and on social media @tastingaustralia.
