Tauro appointed F&B director at JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove

FnbNews Wilbur Tauro has been appointed as the director of food and beverage at JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa. Bringing with him over a decade of experience, he will spearhead the culinary and beverage department, and take on this leadership position with an aim to uphold the standard of F&B excellence that the hotel is known for.

He will lead the culinary team’s overall operations, increase profitability in all outlets, systematically review and introduce new menu options. The already-popular unique dining experiences in the resort will be elevated.

Tauro’s journey includes a spectrum of business, luxury and resort portfolios. He has demonstrated several skills, including the creation and execution of F&B strategies, deployment of profitable business and troubleshooting operations with the belief Less is more.

On the new appointment, Sachin Mylavarapu, the hotel’s general manager, said, “We are very glad to have such an experienced associate taking on the reigns of all our restaurants and bars at JW Marriott Mussoorie.”

“With his immense knowledge in this industry he can significantly contribute towards operational excellence, product enhancement and through his innovation build promotional activities in the food and beverage department,” he added.

Mylavarapu stated, “We extend him our full support, and under his expert guidance, we are sure to excel. On behalf of the entire team, we wish him all the very best.”

Tauro holds a master’s degree in Marketing Communications from N L Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management Catering Technology & Tourism Management.

His career has seen him swiftly climb the ladder through diligence and attention to detail.  He started his career as an F&B attendant at Sahara Star Mumbai and then onto The Westin Garden City Mumbai, where he worked his way up to assistant restaurant manager.

Tauro made a career-defining move to Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, with hands-on experience in handling the specialty Italian and Chinese restaurants, the nightclub and banquets, opened multiple avenues.

While working as assistant director of food and beverage at Grand Hyatt, Goa, he served as a task force specialist at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty (pre-opening).

Prior to his appointment at JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa, Tauro served as assistant director of food and beverage at the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, Bengaluru, opening the finest luxury hotel in India.    

Spending time with family, working out, cycling and whipping up dishes in the kitchen are some of his favourite things to do, when he is not suited up at work.
