The Telangana Food Safety Department has suspended the operational licenses of two major dairy units in Sangareddy district following a series of raids conducted on July 7 and 8.
According to the Telangana Food Safety Commissioner, regulatory authorities seized 3,800 kilograms of cream valued at Rs. 9.22 lakh during the inspections. Food safety officials also collected multiple samples of milk, curd, and paneer from the facilities, which have been dispatched for formal laboratory analysis.
The state food safety department flagged a broad range of operational and compliance failures at both locations. A primary concern involved the use of expired laboratory reagents and chemicals within the facilities' internal testing setups, directly compromising the accuracy of their food safety checks.
The Office of the Commissioner of Food Safety Telangana informed that inspectors also documented significant misbranding and deceptive marketing practices.
Specific commercial brands were named in the violation reports, including misbranded dairy products sold under the labels "Keston Curd" and "Divya Curds," alongside misleading claims and advertisements tied to "Keston Paneer."
The enforcement teams also reported highly unhygienic conditions inside the processing areas.
The official findings detailed poor sanitation, improper food safety storage practices, active pest infestations paired with structural deficiencies in the buildings, and inadequate record maintenance, which severely hindered product traceability within the supply chain.
