Telangana panel submits report on meals in institutes, recommends SOPs

The Telangana Education Commission has submitted a report on food safety and quality of the meals provided in educational institutes and recommended SOPs based on FSS Act.
The Commission submitted its report to the State Chief Secretary and according to reports, it was documented after consultation with the stakeholders in all 33 districts.
The stakeholders include government schools, residential educational institutes, hostels and anganwadi kendras. And, the report examined deficiencies including quality, safety, sanitation & infrastructure.
The Commission also recommended procurement of raw material from the State agencies for the purpose of meal preparation.
