Temple of Heaven, a product of TGL Co (The Good Life Company), bagged the bronze medal in the gunpowder category at the Global Tea Spring Hot Loose Team Championship held in Boulder, Colorado, USA, earlier this year.
Gunpowder tea is a form of Chinese tea in which each leaf has been rolled into a small round pellet. Its English name comes from its resemblance to grains of gunpowder.
There are many health and wellness benefits to drinking gunpowder green tea. It prevents chronic disease, aids in weight loss, protects the heart, and lowers blood sugar, among others.
The ratings of each characteristic were then used to calculate an overall numerical value on a 100-point scale, and winners were determined by rank. The Temple of Heaven Tea by TGL Co was judged as a balanced and distinct tea in its category.
“The judging panel found our tea to well-conceived and distinct with an exceptional flavour profile among other characteristics which validates all our efforts to provide a premium beverage experience rivalling the best in the world. Our award-winning Temple of Heaven tea is just one of the many blends and varieties available to our customers,” stated Bhuman Dani, co-founder, TGL Co.
The Global Tea Championship is the only professional and independent competition that distinguishes the highest quality and best-tasting teas commercially available in the world.
It is judged by tea professionals to distinguish the highest quality and best-tasting teas commercially available. They cup hundreds of teas blind and score the teas based on the analysis of dry leaf; liquor colour, aroma, flavour, and mouthfeel, as well as overall harmony.
