This October, The Nook celebrates its first anniversary from October 11 to 18, marking a year of bringing together coffee, cocktails, food, music and community under one roof. What began as founder Rashi Morbia’s vision for a space that felt warm, personal and unhurried has grown into a neighbourhood destination that moves effortlessly from coffee and conversations during the day to cocktails, music and lively evenings at night.
From cocktail workshops and karaoke nights to bar nights, brunches, curated bar takeovers, music-led evenings and community events, the programming has continued to evolve around what people actually want to do when they step out.
The café-bar format is central to that experience. By day, The Nook leans into its café identity with coffee, breakfast, brunch and a relaxed atmosphere. As the day progresses, the energy shifts towards the bar, with a cocktail programme that brings a more experimental side to the space. Its beverage philosophy spans coffee and cocktails without treating either as an afterthought, while the food menu is designed to work across occasions, from casual daytime meals and sharing plates to evening bites alongside drinks.
That ability to move between moods has become an important part of The Nook’s identity. It is not simply a café that happens to have a bar, or a bar that opens early. It is a hospitality space designed to change with the people in it.
Morbia said, “When I started The Nook, I knew I didn’t want to create just another café or bar. I wanted to create a space with soul, somewhere people could genuinely connect with. Over the last year, watching strangers become regulars, seeing conversations happen and having people come back for completely different reasons has been incredibly special. The Nook has evolved with its community, and that is something I’m really proud of.”
