The Orchid’s rooftop restaurant Mostly Grills relaunched with new menu

The Orchid Mumbai has relaunched its rooftop restaurant, Mostly Grills, with a new menu.

Confirming the development, Shubhamoy Banerjee, food and beverage manager, The Orchid Mumbai said, “We feel our refreshed menu is a better expression of our brand, as it highlights our focus on fresh ingredients and flavour.”

“Over the years, we have seen a perfect mix of patrons from coroporate offices to business travellers, in-house guests, families and couples,” he added.

“Mostly Grills has been synonymous with great food and attractive pricing. These are traits that will continue as we welcome our guests in its new outlook,” Banerjee said.

Guests can select from an a la carte menu comprising Indian dishes, imported meats, fresh seafood, kebabs and sizzlers.

The kitchen is led by executive chef Navid Sayyad, who has curated a menu featuring seasonal ingredients while retaining the restaurant’s signature Indian dishes, including Murgh Dungar Jaipur, Joo-Je-Limu and Sikandari Raan.

The chefs grill the imported meat cuts according to the patron’s choice of rare, medium or well done.

Besides a new range of starters, main courses and desserts, there is a new range of appetisers.

Entrees include Lithuanian Smoked Salad, Quesadillas, Arabic Mezzeh, Bosnian Crisp Legumes, Chilled Nutty Mascarpone and Poached Pear Salad, Char Grilled Balsamic Prawns, Pomfret Esplanade, Chicken Shawarma, Mexican Jerk Chicken, Hawker’s Delight, Mustard Crusted King Fish Steak, Cheese Burst Chicken Napolitana and Jamaican Grilled Lobster Cake.

The menu also has a choice of sausages, including Bearnaise, Paloise and Foyot, and fresh ingredients such as pepper, mushroom, apple, hand-pounded tomato, cheese sauce and lemon butter sauce.

The kebabs include Tandoori Subziyon ki Numaish, Lasooni Broccoli and Gobhi, Aloo Lababdar, Hare Patte Ka Paneer Roll, Dahi Ke Kebab, Tandoori Lobster, Soya Malai Zhinga, Galouti Kebab, Joo-Je-Limu, Dajaj Abzar, Tabak Maas and Gosht Seekh Kebab.

The Grills on Wheels section comprises Chicken Breast, New Zealand Lamb Chops, Tandoori Lamb Chops, Pork Chops, Salmon Steak, Whole Arabian Lobster, Tandoori Lobster, Cottage Cheese Steak, Stuffed Zucchini, Bell Peppers with Cottage Cheese and Cajun Grilled Vegetables.        

The gravy, biryani and tandoori platters comprise Qasr-e-Pukhtan, Begum Bahar, Subj Panchwati, Khush Parda (Chicken), Goan prawn curry, Mahi Kaliya, Murgh Biryani, Mutton Ka Salan, Murg Rezala, Gosht Biryani, Sikandari Rann and Noori Mahal.

The desserts included New York Cheese Cake, Baked Alaska and Orange Cream Brulee. The flambé desserts include Crepe Suzette and Nashile Gulab Jamun with choice of brandy or rum.    

The restaurant has a well-stocked bar comprising Indian and imported wines, cognac, beers, vodka and scotch. It makes classic and contemporary cocktails and there is an in-house mixologist.
