Thomas appointed as mktg manager at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield

FnbNews: 51976Tania Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield and Convention Centre has appointed Tania Thomas as marketing and communications manager. She has 10 years of experience in marketing communications, public relations and digital and social media marketing in the hospitality industry, and excels in brand management, marketing and corporate communications.  

In her current role, she is responsible for developing annual marketing communications plans, monitoring trends within the industry, as well as maintaining relationship with the media. She manages marketing and public relations for Marriott’s 100th property in India and the largest convention center in Bengaluru, and her responsibility includes ensuring that the Marriott brand’s standards and are consistently followed in both offline and online communications.

Commenting on her appointment, Faiz Alam Ansari, general manager, Sheraton Grand Whitefield Hotel and Convention Centre, said, “We are glad to welcome Thomas to our family. With her extensive experience in hospitality industry, we are sure she will contribute to strategising, branding and positioning. We wish her all the very best. ”

Born in Mumbai and brought up in the Middle-East, she has been associated with leading hospitality chains like Marriott, InterContinental and Hyatt, holding key positions in marketing and communication, which have served to further strengthen her expertise.

Prior to joining Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel and Convention Centre, Thomas played a crucial role as PR manager for Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty, where she was a part of the pre-opening team.

Passionate about marketing and building brands, she has a keen interest in developing creative pre-opening marketing plans. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration (Marketing) and is always on a constant quest for learning.

Thomas aims to be a specialist in digital marketing and brand management, and seeks opportunities within the industry to strengthen her skills further.

She loves to travel to new destinations and loves exploring cities and cultured. She is fascinated by new cultures and traditions, and believes it provides an opportunity to learn something new.
