The State Food Safety Department of Telangana has conducted a Food Safety Training and Certification programme for street food vendors in Nizamabad.

The training programme, aimed at making food vendors aware of their food safety related responsibilities including registration, offered detailed guidance on hygiene and sanitation practices, selection of raw materials, cooking practices and emphasised the importance of delivering safe food to consumers.

Around 100 street food vendors attended this free-of-cost training programme and received certificates upon completion.

According to the department, participants were provided with hygiene kits containing aprons, caps, gloves, soap, and hand towels to reinforce cleanliness during food preparation and service.

Further, an on-site registration camp was also organised to enable the vendors in obtaining their FSSAI registrations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
