UFlex unveils F-HSS mono-material PET film to advance sustainable packaging at PLASTINDIA 2026

UFlex Limited, India’s largest multinational flexible packaging and solutions company, has introduced F-HSS, a high-seal-strength biaxially oriented transparent polyester film, at PLASTINDIA 2026, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions.
Designed to enable mono-material PET packaging structures, F-HSS supports recyclability while delivering high seal strength, clarity, and dependable machinability for demanding packaging applications. The innovation aligns with the industry’s growing shift away from multi-material laminates toward circular economy–friendly alternatives.
F-HSS is a co-extruded PET film featuring a specially engineered copolymer-based sealant layer. Heat-sealable on one side, the film offers a seal strength exceeding 1.5 kg/inch, while the reverse side can be supplied in either corona-treated or untreated form. This structure ensures excellent sealing compatibility with a wide range of substrates, including APET, RPET, CPET, and PVDC, making it suitable for diverse packaging formats that require strong, consistent seals.
The film delivers high transparency and superior optical clarity, along with smooth handling and robust machinability across converting operations. It supports both tack-seal and lock-seal applications and enables PET-to-PET laminate structures, helping replace mixed-material packaging. Key applications include lidding for APET, RPET, and CPET trays; durable food pouches; and mono-material packaging for dry snacks such as pasta, makhana, and chakli, ensuring freshness, leak prevention, and product integrity.
Developed in-house, F-HSS is FDA-compliant and manufactured using UFlex’s proprietary sealant technology. The film runs efficiently on offline coating, printing, lamination, and pouch-making lines, meeting the performance needs of food, beverage, and FMCG packaging.
Commenting on the launch, Ashish Saxena, joint president – Packaging Films Business, UFlex Limited, said the innovation combines high performance with sustainability, enabling recyclable mono-material PET structures without compromising operational efficiency or product protection.
