University of Agriculture, Bengaluru ranks 7th in IIRF

The University of Agriculture, Bengaluru has once again proved its excellence by securing the 7th position among the agricultural and horticultural universities in the country in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) – 2026 ranking list, a prestigious ranking system for Indian educational institutions.
With this it has consistently maintained its top position among the agricultural universities in the State of Karnataka.
The Indian Institutional Ranking Framework is a national-level ranking organisation that evaluates more than 5,000 higher education institutions across the country. The evaluation is based on a scientific review of universities, colleges and management institutions and is based on research performance, quality of teaching staff, job opportunities, partnerships with industries, innovation promotion activities and other key criteria.
This distinction, which is a continuation of the NAAC A+ ranking given to the university last time, is a national recognition of the quality education, excellent research, development of agricultural technologies, extension services for farmers and social work projects of the Bengaluru Agricultural University.
This achievement has been possible as a result of the cooperation and dedicated service of the university's scientists, teaching staff, students and the farming community, said Dr S. V. Suresh, vice chancellor of Bengaluru University.
According to Dr Suresh, the university will continue its service in the fields of agricultural education, research and extension with the determination to achieve even greater achievements in the days to come.
