Global industrialists Rishi Kalra, Pankaj, and Rakesh Suresh from Barker Honley Global visited Arunachal Pradesh's upcoming Mega Food Park, alongside lead promoter Likha Maj.

The park aims to establish a multipurpose fruit-based processing industry which will revolutionise agriculture and industry, and is projected to require 70,000 MT of raw materials monthly. Spanning 75 acres, the Mega Food Park will include 200 hectares of rubber plantations, 100 hectares of Thailand seedless lemon plantations, and various livestock farms, such as piggery, goat farming, freshwater fisheries, and duckery.

Specialised processing units will focus on converting waste products, particularly from Ziro region into valuable bio-products, supporting a garden-to-market ecosystem. Likha Maj highlighted the need for a structured roadmap to enhance agriculture and horticulture development, calling for effective policy implementation and fast-tracked single-window clearances to promote food processing units and agro-based industries.

Strategically located 29 km from Itanagar, 15 km from Donyi Polo Airport, and seven km from Harmuti railway station, the park is poised to become a major food and industrial hub in India, enhancing tourism and industrial growth in the region.
