Cabinet reshuffle: Yadav makes way for Mahant, additional charge for Rawat

Following Tuesday’s Cabinet reshuffle that has seen quite a few surprises in the form of exclusions and inclusions, Arun S Yadav, minister of state for agriculture & food processing industries, has been asked to make way for Charan Das Mahant, who is the only member of Parliament (Congress) from Chhattisgarh and also a member of the Central Rural Development Council. President Pratibha Patil has accepted the resignation of Yadav.
Apart from Mahant's induction the reshuffle also saw bestowment of additional responsibility on Harish Rawat – he has been given the additional charge of parliamentary affairs along with his original portfolio – minister of state for agriculture and food processing industries.
