Krishidhan Vegetable Seeds India Private Limited has now introduced the Manaswini chilli seed which is a high-yielding and disease-tolerant variety.

Manaswani Chilly is a highly pungent fruit, suitable for consumption and medicinal properties. It is bright red in colour and is used in the food processing industry. Its high seed content of around 96-110 seeds per fruit makes each fruit bulb heavy, thus attracting a high price.

The seed is Leaf Curl Virus (LCV)-tolerant, thus making it conducive to grow across India.

India is among the leading producers of chillies in the world, as are China and Pakistan. The world production of chillies is around 7 million tonnes. It is cultivated on approximately 1.5 million hectares of land. India produces about 11 lakh tonnes of chillies, making it one of the leading countries in the context of area covered in chilli production.

Chillies in the Indian subcontinent are produced throughout the year, making it one of the most demanded vegetable seeds in the country. They are grown in the dry season (which extends from mid-March to August), as well as the wet season (which is from August till December).

With the Kharif season at its peak many chilli farmers look at high yields for their produce. One such farmer, Vasant Telangre from Maharashtra's Jalna District, harvested a massive yield production of Manaswini chillies upto 22 quintals per acre (the average production is 12-15 quintals per acre). He has a two-acre plot, on which he grew 42 quintals of red chillies and 40 quintals of green chillies. Commenting on the record growth with Manaswani seeds, Telangre said the massive production has increased his financial growth.

According to Ashish Karwa, director, crop life science, Subhash Fertilisers Private Limited (a part of the Krishidhan Group of Companies), efforts to bring out seeds of high-yield productivity would help farmers earn profits. Our expert team ensures that the farmers are guided about the process of the harvest to ensure productive results.
