Da Luigi Goa, wins 100% Italian award, Ospitalita Italiana certificate

fiogf49gjkf0d The second edition of the Ospitalita Italiana (best Italian restaurants in the world) Awards, organised by the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI), in association with Unioncamere (the Confederation of Italian Chambers of Commerce) was held at Mumbai's Four Seasons Hotel recently.
The ceremony marked the end of the 100 per cent Italian contest, which was organised by IICCI in May 2013. Saulo Bacchilega, chef, Da Luigi, The Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, won the 100 per cent Italian awards.
Six Italian restaurants were conferred with the Ospitalita Italiana Seal of Quality, which recognises the authenticity of the cuisine served, the ingredients used and the maintenance of high standards of Italian hospitality.
The eateries that earned the seal, implemented by Unioncamere and the Italian Institute for Tourism Research (ISNART), were Valentino (Hotel Hindusthan International, Kolkata); Le Cirque (The Leela Palace) and Tonino Ristorante Italiano (both New Delhi); Stella (The Leela, Mumbai); Da Luigi (The Park Hyatt Resort and Spa, Goa) and Bene (Sheraton, Bengaluru).
The event – at which it was mentioned that Italian cuisine was the second most-preferred by Indian diners [according to a survey by the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI)] – was sponsored by Costa Cruises, Fortune Gourmet Specialties Pvt. Ltd, Lavazza, Moncaro and Riona Wines Pvt. Ltd.
The award ceremony was preceded by an address by Narinder K Nayar, president, IICCI. Giampaolo Cutillo, outgoing consul-general of Italy in Mumbai, was the guest of honour at the function. The duo presented the awards.
