CII Mysuru in partnership with CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute and NABARD is organising an MSME Meet 2015: Value Added Agriculture & Food Processing Conference on May 29, 2015. The event will be held at the CFTRI campus, Mysuru.

Value-added agriculture and food processing are regarded as sunrise sectors of Karnataka economy in view of their large potential for economic growth. Karnataka holds a prominent share in the production of a number of agricultural commodities of national importance in view of their potential for export or import substitution. The growth potential in this sector is immense in view of the changing food consumption habits, which demand better quality and variety. In order to meet this market-led need, new approaches are being developed in agricultural sector including projects in the farm to table chain. Successes in such endeavour require innovations and partnership, according to organisers.

The  meet will showcase developed technologies by CSIR-CFTRI in grains / fruits & vegetables / spices which are commercially attractive, nutritionally superior and safe food products for immediate adoption by MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs.

CSIR-CFTRI will transfer the technologies and provide technical guidance by scientists and engineers to interested MSMEs.

Also, CSIR-CFTRI will conduct technology demonstration along with  visit to laboratories and food processing pilot plant. Over 150 MSME food processing industries and aspiring entrepreneurs in this sector are expected to participate in the meet.

The event will bring together collective knowledge, thought leadership and definitive direction to enable sustainable food manufacturing products. It will encourage participation by members from across the spectrum of the agro-food processing value chain. It will also provide a platform to exchange business ideas and experience between MSMEs and financial institutions, to update relevant information about safety, standards, regulations, and future of agro & food processing industries.
